WoodGreen launches new 5-year strategic plan

WoodGreen’s Board of Directors has been instrumental in developing this ambitious plan, ensuring WoodGreen is well-positioned to provide innovative social services to our 37,000 clients over the next 5 years.

Our Vision:

A Toronto where everyone has the opportunity to thrive

There are 5 main objectives of the new strategic plan:

1. Driving Social Innovation

We will develop a more innovative and creative organizational culture by creating new teams, systems and processes in addition to implementing new best practices to build on our dynamic, high performance business. WoodGreen’s new Innovation Development Unit will explore and build new service offerings, innovative social enterprise and develop new collective impact models.

2. Influencing Public Policy

Known across the Province and beyond for developing innovative, holistic programs, WoodGreen will increase our work informing policy at all three levels of government with a focus on Transitional Housing and Vulnerable Tenants policies. Using our internal expertise, WoodGreen will participate in recognized sectoral tables and publish leading-edge research on key topics including Precarious Employment, Collaborative Initiatives in the Aboriginal Context and Community Hubs.

3. Putting Clients at the Core

WoodGreen will develop a best-in-class central intake process, giving clients a true one stop shop experience. The organization will build on existing technical expertise to create new tools for data analysis and measurement and will create a powerful Client Portal with client feedback functionality built in.

4. Building a High Performance Organization

WoodGreen’s biggest asset is our hard-working, dedicated staff members. WoodGreen will focus on staff development by adding new strategic capabilities, implementing new systems and adopting new tools to support a collaborative, creative and innovative work environment where each staff member is empowered to share information and ideas.

5. Increasing Capacity

WoodGreen is focused on the strategic growth of our core service areas. In Ontario, there is a surge in demand for affordable housing and enhanced services for seniors. WoodGreen will expand programming and sector partnerships as we increase our capacity to effectively meet these growing needs.
