Message from the President
It was another incredible year at WoodGreen, and I am excited to share some wonderful highlights with you.
Through 36 locations and the delivery of 75 programs, WoodGreen is able to serve 37,000 people, and create meaningful opportunities for change and independence.
Over the past year, Canada has welcomed over 28,000 Syrian refugees, many of whom settled in the Toronto area. WoodGreen created the H.O.M.E portal to connect community donors offering opportunities for housing, goods and services with incoming Syrian refugees to help with re-settlement.
We established a Toronto wide barrier-free Seniors' Crisis Service that provides psychosocial support to any senior in need, reaching marginalized communities and reducing unnecessary visits to hospital emergency rooms.
We celebrated the amazing accomplishments of 17 women who crossed the stage to graduate from Homeward Bound this year.
WoodGreen’s Financial Wellness portfolio has continued to foster financial empowerment for low income people. This year we've worked hard to meet the growing needs of the community by expanding and enhancing our service offerings to become an even more client-centric organization.
None of this would be possible without WoodGreen's dedicated team of nearly 700 staff and 1,000 volunteers who work tirelessly to serve our clients. Thank you for your hard work. Together, we are creating new paths to opportunity for our clients.
